September is always an exciting time for London – the gathering of celebrities, fashionistas and bloggers alike. All in one place, at one time for the one and only London Fashion Week.
Filled with catwalk shows, presentations and lavish events, LFW displays the best of British Stylists from Burberry to Edeline Lee and Bora Aksu.
Desperate to get a glimpse of the action, we headed down to London Fashion Week Festival – a see it shop it experience held at The Store Studios London from Thursday to Friday (following fashion week). Opting to see this year’s trend catwalk – Julia Bernard (British stylist and freelance fashion editor) brought us this season’s key trends. So here we have it, from the front row –
A key decade in design for this Autumn – including sharp lines, tangy mustard, burnt browns and flared silhouettes. So heading down to your local charity shop might not be such a bad idea after all! Look out for an extra twist of embellishment, as attention to detail is also key this season.
An essential buy this Autumn is a trouser suit – adapting it’s work style reputation to the every day street. Giving it a modern twist, many designers (and high street stores) are using tones such as khaki, dark blue and grey. It’s time to whip out your crisp white shirt and get styling!
The sparkle is back – however it doesn’t need to be gold, sequins or pewter shades. Diamante and Lurex stole the show at this year’s festival – topped off with simple accessories and natural skin.
So there we have it, the return of the suited and booted corderoy and all things shiny! Stay tuned for our Autumn Haul coming soon.
