Brunch is hands down my favourite meal of the day – the simple idea of enjoying avo on toast or a stack of pancakes with some fellow bloggers on a Saturday morning sounds perfect to most. This time we have decided to explore a little bit more of SW and ended up at Brick & Liquor in Tooting.
If you remember our previous post, titled Exploring Clapham, you’ll know that we already mentioned Brick & Liquor as a top South London location to consume a salted caramel espresso martini – so this time it was only fair to try their brunch menu (and no this is not me saying you can’t drink espresso martini’s at 10:30 am on a Saturday, however every morning is not reccomended)!
It took us a while to choose our meals as everything on the menu sounded great (and most included avo)! After endlessly changing our minds, we opted for some smashed avocado and salmon on toast and eggs benedict, with the rest of the group went for great British pancakes, eggs royale and a breakfast sandwich. Our meal was accompanied by warming flat whites (with almond milk) and mint tea – fresh leaves always make such a difference! Brick & Liquor were really helpful and flexible with us customising their food to fit our dietary requirements as some of us were gluten and dairy free – which at times can be very challenging.
The overall feel of the resturant is rather cozy – with scattered fairy lights and polaroids of people enjoying themselves pinned to their brick walls (the decor really does support the name). The interior is quite rustic with some industrial detail including spots of brown leather, which gives it some East Village vibes! This is a place to visit if you love down town New York coffee shops as much as we do!
